If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you; this is Patty's Member of the month story.

If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you; this is Patty's Member of the month story.

What the staff has to say about Patty:

When we decide on each member of the month, we look for individuals who are giving extraordinary effort.  For some that might just mean showing up consistently and dedicating themselves to the journey for the first time, for others it might mean doing something that was once impossible.  Patty’s consistency and will power have impressed us the most. Patty’s husband’s work schedule has recently forced him to take a leave from the gym, even without his presence, Patty still shows up 4 days per week without fail with a contagious smile on her face.

In the year Patty has been training at KORE Wellness, she has improved in every measurement. Her FMS score went from an 11 to 14, she went from not even wanting to attempt the functional strength test to a level 2, and she’s now able to do a push up unassisted!  All of these changes show through in her body composition, confidence, and willingness to push even more. She just signed up for her first challenge at KORE, The Murph. We love it the most when we see these amazing transformations done in a way that we know these new habits are here to stay.  Congratulations Patty, we can’t wait to see where you are this time next year!

What Patty  Has to Say about her Journey So Far:

How did you originally hear about us?

Google

What prompted you to seek us out once hearing about us?

I moved to SC a little over a year ago. Prior to moving, I completed a year long internship and over the course of that year gained 20 pounds. I was commuting 3+ hours a day and just neglected diet and exercise completely. After graduating school and moving, I decided to wanted to start taking care of my physical self again. I knew I wanted to join a gym but traditional gyms where just so boring to me. Kore just felt like a natural fit for me.

What was your initial goal when you signed up with us?

I wasn’t really sure of a goal weight or clothing size. But I knew my one goal was to be able to do one push-up.

What was holding you back from achieving this goal (before you joined)?

I’ve only ever used a treadmill or elliptical to work out in the past. I never picked up a weight or did a burpee or even tried to do a push-up because I had failed in the past. I just didn’t think I would be able to do one.

Has this goal changed since you joined KORE Wellness?  If yes, what is your new goal?

Yes! I just did my first unassisted push-up the other day while training for the Murph! My new goal is to be able to complete the murph (with modifications) and do two unassisted push-ups.

Now that you’re working on/have achieved this goal, has your view of yourself changed?

Yes, kore wellness has pushed me to do things I never thought were possible for me physically. Since joining, I have lost 20 pounds which is obviously a huge plus.. but for me, the most rewarding aspect has been the physical accomplishments, like using heavier kettle bells and of course that one push-up!

How do you feel about your future health?

I’ve never felt as strong as I do now. There was a time in the past where I weighed significantly less than I do now, but I still didn’t feel strong. I know I’ll continue to see and feel improvements I’m my physical health.

What have you liked best about working with us?

Obviously my favorite part of kore wellness is Kylie, Jared, Brian, Elise, and Austin. You have made working out fun and challenging at the same time. I actually look forward to working out now. 30 minutes on the treadmill felt like 30 hours. But with you guys making me laugh and pushing me, 30 minutes goes by so fast.

What would you say to someone who is struggling with the same goal(s)?

If I can do it, you can do it. It just takes some dedication and an awesome team cheering you on.
