What the Elise has to say about Natalie -

I’ve had the pleasure of doing monthly coaching calls with Natalie and the thing that has impressed me the most is how well she embraces our KORE Value, Focus on QUALITY of life.  From the start, she’s been interested in addressing the underlying issues that cause her chronic knee pain instead of relying on an anti-inflammatory to simply mask the pain. She came in to her training at KORE Wellness with the understanding that learning how to move well and reduce her pain was going to be a slow process but the long term gains were going to be worth the effort and the wait.

She is the epitome of diligence, not only with her training programs but also with the monthly actions we have co-created to move her in the direction of her overall goal of a healthy body inside and out.

So often when we set a goal for ourselves and fail to reach it, we just give up.

Not Natalie.

I have been incredibly impressed with Natalie’s ability to use failure as information and simply evaluate and adjust a monthly action item she committed to as soon as she recognized that what she had agreed to wasn’t working.

I cannot be more happy for Natalie and the freedom she has from her chronic knee pain, she has earned every single pain free day with an amazing work ethic and steadfast determination.  She recently moved buildings and opted for an upstairs office so she could take the stairs everyday to continue to make little steps towards her overall goals!

  • How did you originally hear about us?

I found K.O.R.E. when I did an internet search of gyms near my office.

  • What prompted you to seek us out once hearing about us?

I had chronic knee pain due to chondromalacia and, after reviewing the website, I thought that K.O.R.E. could help me address it better than prescription strength anti-inflammatory medication and cortisone injections could. I was not happy with the level of relief I got from the anti-inflammatories and the injections didn’t help at all.

  • What was your initial goal when you signed up with us?

My primary goal was to strengthen my legs in order to get off of prescription medication and be able to do things that the chronic pain prevented me from doing to the level I wanted. My secondary goal was to lose some weight and gain overall muscle strength and tone.

  • What was holding you back from achieving this goal (before you joined)?

I needed guidance and accountability.

  • Has this goal changed since you joined KORE Wellness?  If yes, what is your new goal?

I now no longer need prescription strength medication for my knees, although occasionally I do need OTC medication. My goal has now modified a little bit. I want to continue to be strong enough to stay out of any significant pain, I want to focus more on overall strengthening, and I want to pay closer attention to the quality of foods I eat.

  • Now that you’re working on/have achieved this goal, has your view of yourself changed?

Yes. Before starting at K.O.R.E. I was concerned that my quality of life might not improve, but now know that I can manage what was a chronic problem in a way that does not require me to take prescription medication or receive painful injections. I don’t see myself just getting older each year, but getting better as well.

  • How do you feel about your future health?

Great! Since I can now be more active, I do not worry nearly as much about health issues that can arise due to inactivity. I can’t foresee ever giving up working with a trainer.

  • What have you liked best about working with us?

There are a lot of things I like, but am not sure about what I like best! I like the “plug and play” aspect of working out. I don’t have to think about what I need to do that day. Its all laid out for me. I also like that the workouts are varied and that I am constantly challenged. I like that the all the trainers are supportive and knowledgeable, and I also appreciate the monthly meetings where we can discuss my progress and make plans and goals for the upcoming month.

  • What would you say to someone who is struggling with the same goal(s)?

Having guidance and accountability makes a huge difference in getting to where you want to be.
