More practice to improve balance

As you work to improve the integrity of your feet, there are some other simple exercises that you can incorporate into your daily routine address the strength and stability of the lower leg. Again, these exercises can be done anywhere and involve require no equipment.

The Goal:

  • Red Light: Build up to the allotted reps while holding on to something like the back of a chair or broomstick for balance

  • Yellow Light : Build up to the allotted reps unassisted

  • Green Light: Build up to the allotted reps with your eyes closed

The exercises:

  • Bouncing: 50 Double 25 each leg single

  • Y-Balance: 3 rounds of 3 second hold in each position on each leg.
